Meet the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
L. Jared Abramson, the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (EVP/COO) reports to the President and is the University's chief administrative, business, and operating officer. The EVP/COO partners with the Provost and other University leaders to serve students and accomplish the mission of Georgia State University. The EVP/COO provides leadership for the financial and administrative operations of the GSU campus supporting infrastructure, services, and special initiatives that impact all GSU campuses and support the University’s Strategic Plan. Fire drills are an essential part of keeping people safe from fires. Each year the GSU Emergency Management Team, GSU Facilities Fire Safety Team, and University Housing Staff conducts approximately 130 fire drills for nearly 80 campus buildings on all six GSU campuses as required by state and local fire codes.
One of the primary responsibilities of our staff is to make every effort to meet the needs of our students. This past spring, our new Student Government Association (SGA) President James Wilson brought forth an idea about offering financially viable dining plan options for students who do not live on campus.
Over the past few years our Campus Operations team has been systematically improving our outdoor spaces both big and small. From the campus greenway to flower plantings to outdoor art projects, efforts are underway to improve the beautification of Georgia State.
