Meet the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
L. Jared Abramson, the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (EVP/COO) reports to the President and is the University's chief administrative, business, and operating officer. The EVP/COO partners with the Provost and other University leaders to serve students and accomplish the mission of Georgia State University. The EVP/COO provides leadership for the financial and administrative operations of the GSU campus supporting infrastructure, services, and special initiatives that impact all GSU campuses and support the University’s Strategic Plan. During the Oct. 30 town hall hosted by President M. Brian Blake, the campus community was given information regarding recent events and introduced to plans to enhance the campus experience. In the meeting, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Jared Abramson shared a new vision for the Atlanta Campus, which includes the creation of campus core quad space, GSU Blueline pathways, the Campus Ambassador Program and increased security infrastructure.
The Office of the Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer regularly engages with campus groups to work on ways to improve the campus experience for our community. Recently, leaders of the Staff Council made recommendations regarding campus security.
The best course of action when a staff member or student has a concern for their safety or the safety of others, is to contact GSU Police. No matter how small or significant the concern is, our outstanding GSU Campus Security staff is available 24/7 to assist with our community’s safety. Please do not hesitate to contact Campus Police in any safety or security situation.
Accreditations and certifications are especially important for any university to offer the best level of service to its students and community. The same is true for the Georgia State University Police Department.
