About the EVP/COO - L. Jared Abramson
Jared Abramson is the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Georgia State University. Jared brings over 20 years of higher education experience and has served as a member of several Boards. He has demonstrated expertise in finance and operations, academic and research administration, and business intelligence and strategic planning. He is highly skilled at developing teams, creating strategy, improving business processes and operating models and consistently delivering targeted results.
Previously, Jared served as the inaugural vice president for financial planning and operations at the George Washington University (GW) where he was responsible for university-wide strategic financial planning, including creating and maintaining GW’s five-year operating and capital plans, financial modeling and forecasting as well as resource planning, budgeting and analysis.
Before joining GW, he was vice chairman for administration and finance for the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Miami (UM). He also served as director of strategic planning in UM’s vice provost for research office. Earlier in his career, he managed data services for the Association of American Medical Colleges,
Mr. Abramson received a B.A. in psychology from the State University of New York at Albany and an M.A. in industrial organizational psychology from George Mason University. He relocated to Georgia in August 2022 with his wife, Nikki, and their two sons Lucas and Jake.
