Recently, the American Marketing Association (AMA) of Atlanta recognized Georgia State with its award for best “Visual Branding and Identity” for work branding the GSU Blue Line. This award credits the outstanding work done by our amazing team here at GSU.
Recently, the Office of the Provost, The Graduate School and the Office of Human Resources Administration celebrated many GSU employees who completed their degrees through the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP). The event was the perfect reminder of the great benefit the Tuition Assistance Program provides to our employees.
Tuesday’s announcement of the transformational gift from the Woodruff Foundation and President Blake’s vision for our campus to become a “college town downtown” is another turning point in GSU’s rich history. Anyone who knows Georgia State University knows that drive and determination are fundamental traits of our students, faculty and staff, and the opportunity to transform our campus will be embraced and accomplished by all.
The GSU Blue Line is being introduced to the Atlanta Campus over the next several weeks with the installation of trail markers around downtown. The trail markers will provide information about the GSU Blue Line, its purpose and paths, as well as provide valuable wayfinding information.
Twice per year the Office of Sustainability Initiatives hosts its “Hard to Recycle” week. The spring 2024 event saw many students, faculty, and staff participate assisting the recycling team collect approximately 6,000 pounds of hard-to-recycle items.
On Friday, May 31, the city of Atlanta experienced multiple water main breaks that created a water crisis for downtown Atlanta, including our campus. When this type of crisis occurs many GSU staff stand ready to respond.
As a public institution, we must have high standards of stewardship with the resources we receive from our students, the State of Georgia and our generous donors. Therefore, it is an honor to announce that Georgia State University has been recognized by the State of Georgia by receiving an Award of Distinction for Excellent Financial Reporting.
Pride, passion and dedication to serving others is what makes up the DNA of the staff at Georgia State University. This is demonstrated daily by the individuals who take care of the buildings and grounds that we use every day.
Many Georgia State University Police Officers go above and beyond for our community. Recently, one GSU officer made quite an impact at the Guns-n-Hoses Annual Charity Boxing Event hosted in Atlanta on November 16. Officer Cederick Flemming of the GSU Police Department was victorious in his match.
